Welcome to Melissa Perella Photography - whimsy, laughter, and celebrations grow here.  Melissa is a reportage style photographer and mixed media artist based in Huntington, WV.  Returning from California in 2004, she quickly became one of the mid-Atlantic’s most sought after photographers, well known not only for her shooting style, but work ethic, enthusiasm, and flawless finished collections as well.

Melissa’s roots are in fashion photography, work which took her to Minneapolis, Mexico, New York City, and San Francisco.  When asked by a model friend to try her hand documneting his wedding, she somewhat nervously obliged – and loved it!  A decade later, Melissa has merged fashion with photojournalism, an ideal fit for couples seeking the candid without sacrificing the beauty.

As an artist who specializes in outdoor celebrations, Melissa might be found crawling through tall grass, wading in creeks, or sliding down the occasional hillside.  Her quick reflexes and imagination take her anywhere necessary to grab the most innovative shots!

A recommended vendor for such venues as The Greenbrier Resort, Berry Hills Country Club, and Snowshoe Mountain Resort, Melissa approaches each commission with a fresh set of eyes and complete dedication.  Because people are so different and wonderful, all in their very own ways, Melissa settles for nothing less than authentic, warm, original images for her clients.

Melissa is excited to offer full service environmental portraiture to the Tri-State as well – perfect for capturing both the faces and personalities of babies, children, families, and high school seniors.  Environmental sessions are fun and relaxed, taking place at local parks, forests, residences, and downtown settings – where the imagination goes, Melissa follows!
