On April 29, I enjoyed the absolute pleasure of documenting the wedding celebration of Miss Michelle DeQuoy and Mr. Derek Via at Smokey’s on the Gorge in beautiful Fayetteville, WV. Derek and Michelle are stunning people on the outside and sweet, caring people on the inside. Derek reminds me of male models whom I used to photograph back in my fashion photography days and Michelle has the most amazing eyes that I have ever seen in my entire life! Put these two, along with their very fun families and friends, in the outstanding setting of Fayetteville and you have one of my favorite weddings to date! I love Michelle’s bridal portraits, shot at the historic Morris Harvey House. And what fun Derek’s groomsmen shots were – lets just say that I may be investing in some wading boots soon!!
The ceremony on the deck was flawless – April weather can be a gamble, but the skies smiled upon us and these two very special people sealed their love against the backdrop of the mountains. After the ceremony, we shot our first round of portraiture and guests enjoyed mingling and the always delicious food of Smokey’s. My new photobooth business, The West Virginia Photobooth Company, made its debut at Derek and Michelle’s reception – I was delighted to see nearly everyone grabbing up silly crowns and beards and beads and jumping in front of the booth – and then having a great laugh over their photostrips!
After much happiness and celebrating, Derek, Michelle, and I hit the road for more shooting. Derek is a Fayetteville native and had some WONDERFUL ideas for locations – I am so appreciative of him sharing his ideas and spots with me! I love, love, love the entire post reception series of him and his lovely bride!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Via and best wishes for every happiness in this world!!
