The wonderfully snowy landscape of Snowshoe Mountain Resort provided the ultimate winter backdrop for the wedding of Ginger Brauburger and Andy Brooks. These Virginia residents treated their guests to an amazing destination wedding weekend in the mountains of West Virginia, complete with 2 feet of fresh snow! Everyone knows that I absolutely adore Snowshoe – its one of my favorite “pet” Perella wedding venues. What may surprise you is that this was the FIRST time I had been there during winter season!!! My Snowshoe weddings have always taken place in summer or fall – this winter wedding was a total treat for me, as I had long wanted the chance to shoot some beautiful snow landscape/wedding hybrid shots! And Ginger and Andy were the perfect couple for this venture! These two trekked out into the snow (gotta love Ginger’s boots!) and posed for me in various spots with no complaints and hardly even a shiver! The resulting portrait documentary: Stunning. Knock-the-wind-out-of-you-breathtaking. An instant classic. I love that Ginger loves vintage – I do as well! And she and Andy pull this look off effortlessly – they could easily have stepped into our world from a different era, especially on this day!
Following their ceremony at St. Bernard Chapel, we slid, skated, and shussed our way to the Soaring Eagle Lodge. I have seen the Soaring Eagle gorgeously done up before, but this time truly stopped me in my tracks. It is beautiful bare and without decoration, but the rustic Christmas look was fabulous!! And those of you who have devoured the food of Brian Ball know that words can’t do it justice! A relaxed and fun night of dancing and socializing ensued, with the happy couple mingling with friends and family….
Ginger and Andy were a delight and I am so happy to present this slice of their wedding day!
